Why are you reading the 2017 Blue Book?

In 2015 I volunteered to go to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland 2016. Due to illness the opportunity to attend was missed 2016, fortunately we were offered to opportunity to go for General Assembly 2017.

The General Assembly of the Church of Scotland is the highest law making court of the church. It sets agenda for the church and its various bodies. Part of how this works is each council or panel or group or whatever body writes a report, the reports are presented at general assembly, but, in advance of the assembly, the reports are sent to all those who are attending as commissioners. This is called the Blue Book. (The book is available to everyone on the internet, you can grab a .pdf copy here.)

As a diligent commissioner, I intent to read all of the reports before i get to General Assembly 2017. I may not do this so this blog is my ways co committing to read them and also making notes on each report and the issues contained within it. (And any deliverances that should be added, Counter motions made, or small adjustments needing made to suggested deliverances).

Should be good eh?
